This feels real…

The next stop in March will be Stavoren (Friesland). On the internet we found a Bavaria 38 2 stateroom. This is a different layout than we are familiar with for this type of boat. So we are curious to check it out.

We hadden dit weekend al een bezoek aan Friesland gepland, dus belden we de makelaar, Nautisch Kwartier, om een afspraak te maken. Roelof had een leuk telefoontje met hen, nadat hij hoorde dat de boot al verkocht was. OMG dit is binnen twee weken... Maar Roelof legde uit waarom we de boot toch graag wilden zien en we waren meer dan welkom. De makelaar was ook bereid om tijd voor ons vrij te maken om over onze droom te praten.

We spend quite some time with this broker. First we checked the boat (fortunate she was in the water). First impression: Nice spacious cockpit, a lot of storage space inside. We kind a liked this boat. But we also see, there is no isolation and it is still a Bavaria – production boat.

We realy don’t know how to look at that, is it realy bad to have a production boat for long time cruising? Or…. Well after some time on a the boat we went to the brokers office. Drank some tea and coffee and talked about our dream. It seems that this broker is quite experienced with world cruisers. He is a catamaran-dealer and is used to listen to people who change their lives. He can tell us the differents between a boat suitable for world cruising and ‘weekend cruising’. Yeeh we want a world cruising boat, but we still don’t know if we will eventually make this happen ? .

This broker also shows us an aluminum boat that is very nice. Although this is not the boat for us, it is good to see the differences between these two boats. After a few hours, we left this satisfied broker. We are very grateful that he took so much time for us. This trip was worth it, so nice to talk to someone who really understands the need to be on the water.

Did it answer all our questions? No… we even got more… but did it made our dream stronger? Yes.. for sure. And how we make our dream come true, we still don’t know. But what we do know following our dream makes us happy. And then we will see what’s next.
